The beasts of burden stood on a respite,
As their riders unsaddled themselves
And went around to see the surroundings.
As the uplands' snow began to thaw,
Streams of cold water slowly snaked through
The alleys, valleys and channels down the hilltops,
Bursting through stones and boulders on the plane.
Time stood still there for a while,
As did we too,
To listen to the music of the meandering stream
And watch it move away
Like a reptile, making her way!
