Remembering You Always Poem by Anil Kumar Panda

Remembering You Always

The treacherous wind blows through
The window and shakes the calendar
On the wall. Dates fall like beads
Of tears littering the floor where you
Used to lay sprawled waiting for me.

White washed walls don't reflect the
Light from the electric bulbs fixed
Like two eyeballs below the roof.
You have kissed me in that light.

The windows creaked reminding me
The days when you felt shy when
I held you from behind and ran
My lips against your slippery nape.

The doors leaned into the room
With hinges half broken. I can't
Help smiling remembering how
You felt weak at your feet when it
Was time for our first meeting in

The wedding night. Like a bale of
Cotton you were so light to my arms
When I lifted you. I can feel the
Warmth of your tears on my wide
Shoulder today though years have
Passed since you are gone from me.
