Remembrance Of My Death Poem by Christine Onwenu

Remembrance Of My Death

Around, all around, the storm clouds gather.
My dread grows as doom's scythe falls against my heart.
It mutilates me, and darkly my
vitae drips
to the fallen despairing leaves.
In a haze of shock I beg forgiveness
while nothingness surrounds me.
Now alone, my cascade of tears falls upon darkened eyes.

This is my doom

Around, all around, the sinister creatures gather.
My dread grows as the Dark One's touch falls against my naked soul.
It mutilates me, and darkly my life's
Blood drips to the cold, uncaring tombstones.
In a strange and terrible glee I beg forgiveness
while my doom hovers close.
Now alone, my cry of mercy falls upon uncaring eyes.
This is my Hell

Around, all around, the angels gather.
My dread grows as the dagger of your words falls against my heart.
It slays me, and darkly my
essence drips
to the thirsty earth.
In numbness I beg forgiveness
while oblivion hovers close.
Now alone, my cry of mercy falls upon wailing eyes.

This is my salvation
