Reminiscing A Day When..... Poem by Jayatissa K. Liyanage

It was a day, full of all usual
but with some sort of difference
Day broke out, in a hazy mode
Sun, hesitantly peeped above skyline
letting its gleam milder than usual
Ocean, the mighty, held her waves
rolling, but with some austerity
Wind being kinder to all befallen
blew across observing quietness
It was a dawn, a dawn of anonymity
All, it seemed to witness one thing,
A mother's hearty smile on her lips
Gleaming in golden rays, so sweet
over a melody of an infant's first cry
when she gifted, yet again
another bundle of love
Aruna, (the dawn) to our domain
on the Twenty ninth, March
