Remorse Poem by Cameron Gallant

Remorse

Ah, is it remorse I feel
I certainly feel guilty from hull to sail
Packed full of gems, it’s quite surreal
But I’m no good, I only steal

I hang out miles from the coast
The sea she shimmers and glows like gold
They say I’m useful, but I fell I may just hurt
‘fly the Jolly Roger valiantly, but I’m sinking with remorse
