Renewal Of Earth Poem by Jessica Gabanyic

Renewal Of Earth

Rain falls darkening the sidewalks and streets, watering the grass and trees to the meadows nearby. A lake sits in the middle of a meadow with wildflowers littering the ground, and trees scattered around. A boating dock is built at the edge of the lake with a girl sitting dangling her feet in the water, she is wearing a silk blouse and a pair of blue jeans. Her angelic features start to look up as the sun begins to shine through the clouds and rain. A rainbow begins to form arching across the sky, the Colors filling vibrantly. The girl's Strawberry blonde hair whips wildly in the wind, caressing her face with feathery, soft, strokes. Her light, blue eyes full of wisdom as she looks out ahead. Her lips curve into a smile as she see's the world in its own beautiful glory, seeing every detail as if you were to rarely come across it. She begins to stand taking one last look at the rolling hills, and wildflowers tossing in the wind. Tilting her head, she hears baby birds just waking up to food, and Squirrels and Chipmunks talking to one another. Smiling brighter as the sun kisses her face and the breeze gently catches her hair. As she turns to leave, she begins to remember that the earth looks graceful but bears scars from other people. However, it still manages to move on and still look beautiful no matter what, after she remembers that she walks back home with the strength that earth had instilled in her by the graceful glory of God.
