Rest For The Weary Sweet Lady - Poem by Michael P. McParland
I'm so very weary sweet lady
feeling tired through my entire body,
now after being up for a very short while
I'm ready to close my eyes once again
and I wanted to say I love you
and goodnight once more before I do.
It's time for us the weary
to go to bed smiling as we feel
the loving warmth from each other.
Rest for we the weary who will find
at least enough comfort to make it through
sharing our connection to dream together
there feeling all of the loving power.
Just a few funny videos on YouTube
as I struggle to eat this little bit of food
that I knew I could fight on through and handle.
Then I'll find the book that I want to put on
and smiling close my eyes to dream of you and I
snuggling this night in peace and comfort.
I love you sweet lady and send you sweet kisses
to help we the weary find the peaceful
and refreshing sleep that we need.
