Rest Now, Troubled Soul Poem by Mario, Lucien, Rene Odekerken

Rest Now, Troubled Soul

Sleep now, though your heart is heavy,
though your words are sharp with fear.
You push the weight away from you,
but it never truly leaves.

The shadows stretch behind your steps,
chasing what you hide inside.
Blame is just a borrowed shield,
but it won't keep you warm.

Close your eyes and let the quiet
touch the parts you run from.
No one's looking, no one's judging-
only the night, only the stars.

Rest now, though you feel so small,
though the world feels far too big.
No need to fight the dark alone,
tomorrow is still waiting.
