Return To Me Poem by Tatianna Rei Moonshadow

Return To Me

This may be the last
Or this may be the first
A night of instant death
Or a night of bright rebirth
Looking across the space
Separating me from all thats left of you
A picture in a dusty frame
Bathed in light glowing a gentle hue
Thinking of all the time
That was left to such a waste
I never got to kiss you on last time
But I can imagine the sweet taste
Your scent still lingers here
In the corners of my room
As I revel in the memories
I survey what could be my tomb
Though I would rather it be in your arms
That I take my last breath
I would much rather cease to be with you
For I haven't let go of you yet
But I am not dying quickly
So far my heart persists to beat
Though sometimes I must wonder
When I feel your love so sweet
And my heart races faster
Than I ever imagined it could
Just to realize that it is only a memory
Of where our hearts once stood
So close but now so far
Never again to wander together
I pray that if my heart breaks tonight
It will stay broken forever
That if I cease my breathing
And if I never wake
I will stay that way forever
Only for my own sake
For this life just isn't worth it
When I am not at your side
And I pray that if I do not wake
You will not hurt inside
I would never wish you suffering
I would never wish you pain
I would die a thousand deaths
Just to be with you once again
Just to see you smile
If only for one day
One smile would keep me living
Until the last of days
One kiss from you would keep me moving
Until the end of time
One last taste of your love
Would be enough to get me by
But I know these things are not coming
They are only dreams that will not cease
So until the end of this life I will wait
For you to Return To Me

Tatianna... I really like this piece. I can feel your emotions and your thoughts. Unfortunately that's the way life is. We are put here to give and to take back everything that we have loved away from us. Thank you for sharing this wonderful poem.
