Royal Flush Poem by Tatianna Rei Moonshadow

Royal Flush

Rating: 5.0

For so long I was a stationary observer
I folded and let myself freeze over in ice
But that ice has become animated
And I’ve filled myself with life
I’m ready to get back on the field
To retrieve my jersey and play
Hearts are just another card
And love is the weapon in this game
Now don’t try to get to me
My ice leaves me quite unable to be touched
It’s nice that you want to remind me of the past
But the nausea you give me seems to be too much
Can’t you see I’ve left your table?
I’ve got a new dealer and a new deck
You’d do well to find someone else to cheat
And you’d be happier if you’d just forget
I’m playing now with a loaded hand
My new opponent is so easy to win
Not long from now I’ll slip between his sheets
As I strategically slip get under his skin
Yours was always too thin for me anyway
You were no challenge because your strategy always stays the same
I’ve moved on so maybe you should let it go
I’m on to a new pawn and a whole new game
This man has a good face for poker
But he falls so easily for these blue eyes
Just like you; he’s falling for my charm
Unlike with you, my charm for him isn’t made of lies
I bat my lashes and smile
When the time is right I blush
This time I’m throwing in all my chips
Because this time I’ve been dealt a Royal Flush
