Reviewing The Past Poem by Phil Soar

Reviewing The Past

I'm tempted to review my past
Another year begins at last
Shall I look back and contemplate
How I performed or sealed my fate
The issues that I left unsolved
The things in which I became involved
Or would it be better to cast aside
The hurt and pain I have inside
Perhaps I've lingered far too long
On all the things I felt went wrong
And now's the time to push away
The past that haunts me every day
The new year is upon me now
I think I'll start afresh somehow
And when this year has come and gone
I'll marvel how I soldiered on.
