Rice Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Rice

Rice

Bony and small, dark
-he has car and drives
-to earn food, as a job

Connected the cable
-to turn on Microwave

In he set bowl of rice.

Then lectures, to answer
-my researching question:
- "Do you too, eat much rice
-as they do in Bengal? "

Have heard they eat much fish
-with rice for every meal.

"Yes, we do and rice is
-for noon, night and morning, "

He said and complained:
"The doctors of the West,
-with knowledge and science
-are all wrong and baseless…"

He said and told me what
-they do, eat in Ceylon:
- "Rice…rice…rice!
-and never we get fat…
-rice gives-not heart attack,
-their talk is the bray of an ass…"

He said but was sure that,
-I would not resist that he has had
-experience and knowledge, of first hand…"

I agree with learning
-but never with falling
-a victim in taking…
-every wrong and bullshit
-as science of the West! ! ! "
