Riding On Turtle Poem by fraidoon warasta

Riding On Turtle

riding on turtle
naively i was wishing
riding to school on a turtle
being a little god, colouring
the stars pink, green and purple

sometimes chasing homeless cats
annoying the stray dogs and hens
trespassing without permit
through neighbour's window and fence

today looking back on those
good days with no regret
that cheekiness was not in vain
a bold boy was i, i never forget

those sunny and great days
devoid of anguish and worries
with joy filled to the brim,
with grace, fortune and glories

constructing my own cannons,
tanks, palaces and cars
lying i gazed happily hours long
at the sapphire sky, moon and stars

with a slight change in the sky
the lightness of time passed by

without flying on a plane
touching the sheep-like clouds
protecting wild flowers
avoiding the noisy crowds

i stand for the right of wild
with animals only, i have fun
i know the cause of global warming
economically even use the sun

no money donating to the war child
instead giving my used brush
to children to paint a bright horizon
and make the blue sky blush

i don't want to pretend being
one of those virtuous persons
but to be honest i abhor
those trapped in ambitions politicians

if thousands of years pass
i won't grow and become wise
i'll embrace my inner child
and above convention rise
