Right Through The Night Poem by Gert Strydom

Right Through The Night

Right through the night you did lie in my arms,
we both did cherish each other,
did not say a single word
and we were like the prince and Snow-white.

Darkness folded like a blanket over us,
at times you held on to me softly
and we watched the bright moon
until the starlight faded with the morning,
the silence had meaning
and nobody bothered us
while the bright sun peeped through the window,
and doves cooed in the great old oak tree.
