Rock God Poem by Rachel Flint

Rock God

He’s worshipped at Wembley stadium
M.e.n and N.i.a
Disciples come
In baggy black t-shirts

Eyeliner
Piercings
And downcast faces
All attention fixed on him

He stands there
Like a man possessed
Like a man blessed
The guitars strum
As he speaks with pathetic tongue
The faithful are amazed

Organised religion has no hold
On those who worship
In sacred mosh pits
For them their faith is placed in

Cobain Curtis and Vicious
Until another one comes along
