Sleepless In Suburbia Poem by Rachel Flint

Sleepless In Suburbia

Every creek of the house
Every gurgling drain
Every leaking tap
Drives you insane

You wonder out loud
What’s the point of it all?
As you watch shadows
Climbing up the wall

You don’t know what time it is
And you don’t care
The seconds tick slowly by
As you continue to stare

The land of nod seems beautiful
And you wish to get back
But your train of thought
Has gone of the track
