Rocky The Red-Nosed Boxer Poem by Bryan Corbett

Rocky The Red-Nosed Boxer

Rating: 5.0

you know Ali and Foreman and Dempsey and Tyson
Louis and Frazier, Sugar Ray and Johnson
but do you recall?
the most famous boxer of all?

Rocky the red-nosed boxer
had a very bloody nose
and if you ever saw it
you would even say it glows

all of the other boxers
used to laugh at his runny snout
they never let poor Rocky
contend in any title bouts

then one foggy Christmas eve
Don King came to say:
'Rocky with your nose so ripe
won't you take a dive tonight? '

then all the boxers loved him
because he wouldn't take a knee
Rocky, the red-nosed boxer,
you'll go down in Fistory!

This is hilarious Bryan! My favorite boxer of all time was Rocky Marciano, who retired as an undefeated heavyweight champion. I was also a great fan of Gene Fullmer, who hailed from my home state of Utah. I once considered boxing as my profession. I was fast, but my punches lacked power. Anyway, great poem!
