Roll-up your eyes and see...
...the sun shines on you and the universe,
See how the wind by the command of God blows...
...and tosses you to the right and to the left;
See who he is that implants in your nature...
...a passion for amassing enormous wealth...
...gold and diamonds, land and property...
...and beautiful women;
See who implants in your soul...
...the light of Muhammad - the praised light!
See who takes pity on you and draws you...
...towards the light bearers of his kingdom?
See who pulls you away from the ungodly dark spirits?

If you have shut up your eyes to the truth...
...your eyes in the sockets are like opaque pebbles;
Amidst the whirlpools of the river of Life...
...it is only your merciful God...
...who brings your ship out;
Offer up sincere prayers,
Speak to your lord secretly...
...in the dark hours of night,
Give your heart's ears to his eternal voice...
...that echoes in the seven heavens and...
...the seven continents of the earth;

When Adam's groaning and lamentation...
...and weeping went beyond all bounds...
He made this supplication:
'Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves...
...and if You do not forgive us...
...and have mercy upon us...
...we will surely be among the losers';

In the dark hours of the night a proclamation...
...came to him from his lord:
'I your lord forgive you and grant your Taubah;
What more do you seek? Paradise?
Lo, I will give it to you, but not me!
Be silent! cease your petitions!
Seek best of this world and the hereafter
I am manifest in both the worlds;
You need not go anywhere to see me.'
