Rotten Woods On Young Shoulders Poem by Ndina Kamaro Muofhe

Rotten Woods On Young Shoulders

Old rotten woods refuse to be removed as pillars.
All the energy is wrinkled and it's left in their perceptions.
Yet, they believe the house need their aged thoughts.
Truthfully, fresh new ones are required.
Fresh from the harvest. Those still strong as energetic mules.

Old rotten woods,
Frail but still cling to thrones,
Why, not step aside
And give the young a chance to take over?
Guide with your experience the fresher bones
Step out of the way
Give the young the way
I tell you, their freshness can save a drowning day
