Ruled Poem by Randy McClave

Ruled

I don't want to be ruled by a king
Whose living in the West Wing,
And I don't want to be ruled by a dictator
Who believes he is better than me and greater.
I don't want to be ruled a person
Who with threats and hate daily gets worsen,
A person who thinks that he's religious and a smarty
Especially when he belongs to the Republican Party.
Our country is becoming worse
As unto the world we became a curse,
Because, what our president has dealt
Every American besides the wealthy is tightening their belt.
Soon the middle class will be forgotten and gone
Unto the wealthy we will become their pawn,
We will pay their taxes and fight their every war
So, they can relax and have so much more.
We the people will soon become the uneducated
No longer will we dream or inspire or be motivated,
We will be used and controlled and hurt
And like manure, we'll be covered up with dirt.
Then I said to myself do not ever forget
As on a mighty throne a king once did sit,
We then became the writers
And we became the radicals and the fighters.
We are the rioters who will kick your ass
Because, we are the backbone and the middle class,
It was us who defeated England
Even though we were out manned and outgunned.
For liberty and freedom and justice we sought
And for our freedom and rights we fought,
We suffered and we fought and we bled and died
While all the time, "Liberty for all we cried".
We fought against tariffs and taxation
That is how we became a free and a very proud nation,
While you stayed hid and listened and did watch
With your hand on your wallet and your crotch.
I don't want to be ruled by a puppet
Who doesn't know or understand what's really up,
I will not be tricked or conned or used or fooled
By no one will I ever be ruled.
