Rules Of Engagement Poem by June FeirCruz

Rules Of Engagement

Rating: 4.5

'why do you want to know everything? '
You once asked me
'What purpose will it serve'?
'What good will it do for you to know who I was with'?

Is there no protocol to this game we play?
Are there no rules to adhere to?
How am I supposed to know if you are playing fair?
Or if I am good enough to win this game

Every woman we meet on the street
Looks at you as though you are red meat
Ready to sink their pearly whites
To your shoulders and to your neck

Am I supposed to sit here and wonder:
That when my back is turned a woman put asunder
All the life and memories I created
She continues to plunder in wonder

I do not think so, my love
I will be your worst nightmare
As a famous wife once said:
'Don't get mad, get everything'.
