Rumi In Rome Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Rumi In Rome

Rumi in Rome

Spent time
Listened, watched,
Heard them talk
Right and wrong;
Many were the insults
In open, wrapped in hide
Of the lips and the tongues.

It was on impeachment,
Congress, USA…

My heart though
Was plane on runway
It aligned and took off…

In Rome I, saw Rumi
We talked of many things
Like fish and history
And claims, left and right…

"Fishes rot from head! "

Pictured Rome, Persia
Both collapsed and fell hard;
Same happened in Russia
And many capitals
Like Peking of China,
And Britain's London…

The nations are in nets,
Entrapped like fishes;
The rulers act as heads
With greed for power,
Lust and wealth…

"Fishes rot from head! "

Today's was USA
And stunk congress;
I smelled the stench;
Rotten are their rulers…
