Rumored To Threaten Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Rumored To Threaten

Truth?
Introduced.
To then become feared.
And rumored to threaten.
Has never been on a mission,
Assigned to destroy...
Those not accepting,
The evidence of its presence.

That is done by those who lie.
The ones who deny and try to defy,
All what truth is.
By creating their own version of it.
Leaving division, conflict and indecision.
As proof to defend...
Their lies to tell and sell them to be sold.
More to keep marketed and manufactured.
As a goal to fatten pockets.
Than truth to live it.
And have it known.

So weakened become the people to use.
Mentally abused.
When deluded to believe,
That things to acquire, have and flaunt...
Maintains one's identity.
Self worth and respect to get.
And this pretense must be kept protected.
Whether with weapons.
Fences and walls to build.
Or the continued evidence of ignorance.
Valued to feed it and taught to teach.
And preserved as a way of life!

This deception has threatened humanity.
By distorting the truth.
With blinding the sight of it,
In the minds of today's youth.
To keep them distant from thinking.
And putting pieces together,
Connecting the dots!
That's the threat deceivers regret!
Truth introduced producing curiosity...
Threatens those whose lives to live,
Have been depending on the value of lies.
