Running Out Of Depression Poem by Justin Uwihanganye

Running Out Of Depression

Rating: 4.8

Some smiles are just masks,
Hiding storms so none to see.
Acting fine in front of everyone,
But your silence knows everything.

The heart says to hold on,
But the brain speaks to move on.
From your past hardships-
Is likely impossible by those gates.

This is the way to get through;
Tell the problems your victory.
For they no longer own you.
Whisper that result in their ears.

Depression takes one to the depths of the pits and your poem expresses this fact completely. The somber tone highlights the darkness associated with the narrative. Thanks for sharing your poem with us. : -)

Every word you have written succinctly expresses the feeling when you have depression. I have felt it myself, the weight of always wearing faces killing us. There is a freedom when we unbare our fears. Great work!

I held onto my issues and thats the reason I never made it through. I am using pills now.
