Russia Is Reverting To Technicals (Sicilian Sonnet) Poem by Gert Strydom

With Uvalgonzavod to stand-still grinding,
with tanks not produced from lack of many a part,
acts of Ukrainian farmers bring joy to the heart,
as they tow the tanks that they are finding.

To pick-ups Russia is machineguns binding
as their war effort fails and do fall apart;
like terrorists they try to around dart
are not about the lack of supplies minding,

very backwards their military do go,
while the Ukraine do captured weapons use
and anyone guess that Putin do not really know
about the damage patriotism do induce,
casualties that the Ukrainians do bestow,
while to survive every Ukrainian does choose.

[Poet's notes: The term: Technicals refer to heavy machine-guns and other weapons of war being mounted on civilian vehicles. Fifty millimetre heavy machine-guns are mounted on Toyota and Isuzu pick-ups by the Russians as the pick-ups of the Russians do break-down in the Ukraine. Uvalgonzavod is the name of the factory that produces Russian main battle-tanks.]
