Rusted Vows Poem by Pasquale DiMeola

Rusted Vows

Go back to times of laughter
When sadness did not rule
How all before or after
Seemed destined to be cruel

Swollen bruised face quivering

Lace wet with champagne splatter
Halls of roses galore
Would the heart did once matter
Blood drips on kitchen floor

Eyes sealed by coagulated pus

Rounds of standing ovation
A bouquet to the crowd
Ulcers and aggravation
From a brute shrieking loud

The drunkard regurgitates

Newly wed limousine ride
Pelted with rice and byes
Each day may you abide
Suffocating she dies

In death did they part.
