Sadly Unrequited! Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Sadly Unrequited!

His Heartfelt Plea:

Oh how I wish you were true,
I am breaking all rules over you.
And however I try
I can't help but cry,
There is rain in my heart...
The absence of love is why.

Her cold-hearted reply:

You lack manly charm and charisma
And you are no 'million-pound' earner,
Your youth has long seen its day...
So please forgive me I pray
There is doubt in my heart
And I must walk away.
