Sail Away. Poem by Tatiana Elliott

Sail Away.

Rating: 4.5

Sail away dear child
this world is not for you
come live with me instead my child
In my lighthouse, your refuge

I will keep you safe
from those waves that rock your boat
when you feel you've lost your stable oars
My love will keep ye afloat

When your lost so far away from me
you cannot see my mapped plans
I will shine a path to take
that'll lead to my safe hands

When you take hold of that mast you bare
and open up your sail
I will set your journey straight
through any howling gale

The storms that rock you back and forth
and try to knock you under
will be hushed; made calm, just trust in me
my hands can tame the thunder

When the white crisp paint that spelt your name
has chipped to raw dark wood
I will repaint your name once more
till it's engraved and lasts for good

Sail through time and sail through fate
I'll guide you all of the way
separate yourself in your little sail boat
and watch as this world slowly fades.
