The shehnoi man
Playing the music
In the temple of Kashi Viswanath
And telling the tales
Of the midnight children
Born during the transitional phase
Of power transfer
And as thus the nation got divided,
People separated on the basis
Of power, politics, language, religion,
Race, caste, creed and sect
And as thus were India, Pakistan and Bangladesh born.
