Salvation Poem by Gary James Smith

Salvation

Salvation

Salvation...praise God! ...Hallelujah
Greatest gift God's given to men
In the humbling act of repentance
Turning from sin and being born again
The Holy Spirit begins its indwelling
An internal sealing that we've been redeemed
The fruit of the Spirit as outward evidence
That what we've believed is not just a dream

The reality of the Cross of Jesus
Forgiveness poured out from Calvary
All of my sin He drank the cup for
God's wrath He endured for you and for me
We cannot leave off of the wonder of
That a Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief
With a love beyond all comprehension
Died to provide power for our sins relief

Hallelujah...praise God! ...my Salvation
Has drawn me closer to the Lord
With a spirit of genuine praise now
And an understanding of God's Holy Word
His light has come shining through
Praise God there's a brand new me
The presence of my Saviour Jesus Christ
Has guaranteed Heaven as my destiny

Hallelujah what a Saviour!
