I Need Sanctuary For My Soul
Someplace, Safe To Cry
Somewhere I Can Run To
Until My Tears Run Dry
A Sanctuary For My Soul
Where I Can Just Breathe
Just Take The Time To Be
And Make All The Outside Leave
I Need A Sanctuary For My Soul
When The World, Is Cruel And Cold
Or When I Grow Too Old
Or Have No Hand To Hold …
… Somewhere, That When Silence Gets Scary
Or Find No Answers To Worry-Queries
Or No Help To Fight Adversaries …
Then, My Soul, Needs A Sanctuary
Where There Is A Haven, In A Hurry
From Non-Stop Hail, and Downpours Dreary
Or I’m Up Against Some Frightening Fury
Or When I Am Just Lost and Weary…
… Sanctuary, Guarded; Free From Guile
A High Tower, I Can Climb
And Watch The Skies, And Smile
And Feel Safe, For A Time
… A Sanctuary, Strong And Deep
Someplace, With Honey And Berries, Sweet
Somewhere I Can Dream And Sleep
And Where ‘ The Spirit ‘ And I Can Speak
My Soul Needs A Sanctuary
Even If My Life, You Must Bury
Even If These Words, Are Last Commentary
“Please, Don’t Leave Memory In Cemetery
I Need A Sanctuary For My Soul
Somewhere, I Can Wait In Peace
And Find Protection And Some Release
From The Belly Of The Beast …
… My Eyes, Cried An Estuary
My Heart Has Bled In Tributaries
While Looking For Ark, So Necessary
GOD … Gave My Soul … Sanctuary
