വസന്തത്തിൽ ജമന്തിപ്പൂക്കളോട്
ഞാൻ ചോദിച്ചു,
അവൻ പറഞ്ഞതെല്ലാം
സത്യമായിരിക്കുമോ എന്ന്.
മിടുക്കികളും തെളിമിഴികളുമായ
അവർക്കറിയാമായിരുന്നു.
ഇപ്പോഴാകട്ടെ,
വയലുകൾ തവിട്ടുനിറത്തിൽ
ഒഴിഞ്ഞുകിടക്കുന്നു
കയ്പുറ്റ ശരത്കാല-
ക്കാറ്റടിക്കുന്നു.
വിഡ്ഢികളായ കാട്ടാസ്റ്റർ-
പ്പൂക്കളിലൊന്നിനും
ഒന്നുമറിയില്ല.
