ഒരു സായാഹ്നം,
മൈലുകളോളം
പക്ഷികളെല്ലാം കൂട്ടംചേർന്ന്
മിന്നിത്തിളങ്ങുന്ന ശബ്ദത്തിൽ
ഹൃദയത്തിലെ സന്തോഷം
കോരിച്ചൊരിയുകയായി.
അന്തരീക്ഷത്തിന് നീലനിറമാണ്
വായുവിന് മധുരവും,
ആദ്യത്തെ കുറെ നക്ഷത്രങ്ങൾക്ക്
വെള്ളനിറമാണ്,
ഓ, രാവിരുളും മുൻപ്
പക്ഷികളെപ്പോലെ
ഞാനൊന്ന് പാടട്ടെ.
