'Sati Pratha' was on pick
in medieval India
was it a part of sanatan culture?
absolutely 'no'
'Sati' is not mentioned in Vedas
not mentioned in Ramayana
composed 7000 years ago
but found in Mahabharata
came after 2000 years of Ramayana
there, Madri opted for sati
but Kunti not
then it was optional
Buddha talked about killing of animals
but nothing about sati
it's not found in Jain's inscription too
not said by Adi Sankaracharya
or other reformers
it could be existed in ancient India
but it was not mandatory
it turned compulsary
after Muslims invaded Bharat
Hindus did it
to prevent loot of widows
by Muslim rulers.
