Savior Poem by Amanda Ford

Savior

Rating: 5.0

'This pain, this hurt, cant possibly get worse, '
I tell myself day after day,
Yet there's no way to nurse the pain as it gets worse,
No matter the price you pay.
Yet I'll sit and I'll stay to last another day
For the lives to be saved if i last through this day,
Is not limited to mine, but a friend's in due time.
For a pact has been made between her and I,
That if one should die, so shall the other commit suicide.
For the pain we once shared brought out a close pair,
And through our pain and our hurt, our friendship was built.
A life, it couldn't be if it were I without her or her without I,
For she kept me alive in the darkest of times.
And when that bottle of pills seemed my only friend,
She interceded and made my thoughts bend.
From death and decay, to the Rose Parade,
From depression to joy, I'd jump in a day.
If she'd save me once, then I'd save her twice,
Thoughts of death and despair, our only vice.
My best friend she was and forever will stay
For it was her who got me through those dark days
When try as i may, death seemed the only way,
Yet she brightened my path and helped dull the pain.
My regrets now aren't me saving her, or her I,
But the pain we now endure alone
For our friendship has changed
And not necessarily in a bad way,
Yet now, far apart we remain.
For she is a Toro, and I a Warrior,
Yet put all that aside,
And she's my best friend for life!

I'd like to dedicate this to my friend Ciera,
she truly is my best friend for life

An interesting write Amanda! With time you'll know that each and every one of us can't and shouldn't die just because the dear one is gone. You can live your own life and still can go on valuing the friendship.
