Say Goodbye Too Darkness Poem by Melvina Germain

Say Goodbye Too Darkness

I trudged through harsh storms,
thick waters tried to drown me.
The river ran quickly knocking
me off my feet.

As I laid on my back on that sandy
shore, I knew there was only one
way to go, yes I knew that for sure.
Facing the sun
Facing the sky
The only way is up and to darkness
say goodbye.

Sums up everything about a really bad day, I think I've gone down similar rivers as yours, and they have done some battering around. The closing is very sad, it almost feels like that feeling of given up, its kind of tearful when you read it especially out loud. I don't know the sadness of others but I can say this poem is one of those once that makes me feel good in knowing I'm not alone.
