saying goodbye to the enchanted world
we must work for a living
and become the subject of
breakroom speculation
folding our piano bench music
into a million airy creases,
before goldenly swallowing it;
anything to be undetected.
and knowing it is anathema
when the heart fills up with
what is not its own
