Sciatherical Poem by JJ Evendon

Sciatherical

A gnomon
sits angled on a dial
around which
hour lines are drawn.

As the sun crosses the sky
the time-machine
forms a shadow which
marks the passage of time.

A winter snowflake
may mean time disappears.
But when the sun shines
and light once again
casts its shadow
across the dial,
the sundial
becomes a
time-machine
and an instant teller of time.
