Seacastle Bride Poem by Kelly Boutin

Seacastle Bride

I feel lonely as I wander
Looking for someplace to rest along the shore
Close my mind so I don't have to feel so much anymore

Winds of time, seas of cold
Where is life in this world?

Seacastle Bride, they cannot see your tower
Shine your beacon on the sea so we can see you better
Try one more time at least, please
Before
You feel like dying but we are trying so please try a little more

My hope has feel to the sand like my heart and shriveled up and died
I have built a castle from all the artwork that I've cried
I am alone except for the seven wails of the screaming tides

I will send you a shell with crying words inside
I will fill a bottle up with water and watch it sink slowly oh why
Do I try?

I have swum these waters
I have sailed them all
I have gained respect
For this cold world where I can be real
I can understand now why we all die
Why the sea is always
Never satisfied

I will die on this grave
That used to be me
I will reach the breaking waves
That tried to reach me

Seacastle Bride, are you happy
Where is the sparkle you once had?
A jest for life, for something bright
Has all but completely dimmed
Ocean white, ocean white,
She wants to jump in
But Seacastle Bride, we will keep trying
We know you cannot swim
