Sean Duggan Poem by Francis Duggan

Sean Duggan

Sean always was the quiet one of the Duggans he was a man who never spoke too loud
But he was renowned as a master builder and every building he built did him proud
'Tis sad to think that he is gone forever that with the dead in Drishane he now lay
But if there's a heaven he is surely up there and for his soul there is no need to pray.

The founder member of the Duggan Brothers a renowned Duhallow building company
In every town and village in Duhallow a Duggan building one is sure to see
The Duggan Brothers fame will live forever their great work to their greatness testify
They became known far from their Hometown of Millstreet and like I say their name will never die.

Sean Duggan always was the quiet achiever he never was one who had much to say
And he never was one who yearned for the limelight and he went through life in his own quiet way
'Twould be a better World if all were like him for people nowadays like him far too rare
Who knows he must be needed up in heaven that the walls of heaven are in disrepair.

Sean Duggan he is gone but not forever the good works of the good man will live on
The World was better for him living in it and to a better place his soul has gone
In old Drishane a place of peace and beauty his remains are at rest forever more
But death of the body only has been spoken, the soul lives on and the soul has wings to soar.
