Secret Garden Poem by Braden Patton

Secret Garden

Rating: 5.0

We can stand in the rain without rusting.
We can learn what it means to be trusting.
We can devote ourselves to the other’s form,
While we use the excuse to get warm.
I miss your skin to keep me warm,
I miss your beautiful, angel form.
I miss the days where you and I
Became one under the starry sky.
I live with the urge to kiss you
Every second of the day.
Now that you are mine
I won’t ever leave, wander, fade, or stray.

Let’s run away to our secret garden,
The leaves will fall and the lake will harden,
But I'll protect you from the elements.
While our love only grows more intense.
The snow will come and go, the people too,
But I will always have you
Like the morning grass will always have dew.
Our secret garden will live forever,
Through all the rain and every weather,
Without a doubt we’ll come about,
And never leave again,
Even if we have to pretend.
All the past events don’t matter
Please don’t let my teeth chatter,
I know it’s cold but we can be warm,
If only the sun would vanquish the storm,
Perhaps our love will live once more,
You gave me wings, now, let’s soar! : D
