Secret Love Poem by Elizabeth U. Adams

Secret Love

I've seen you go through different girls,
I've seen your heart break
I've witnessed every tear you've cried,
And heard you vow never to make the same mistake
Yet all you do is look through me,
As if I'm not even here
How can you not see the look in my eyes,
the look of constant fear
The fear of never being able to have you,
Of you never knowing how I feel
Of going through life without your touch,
Of never having anything so real
You see, each time you get wounded,
You always run to me
I'd put my arms around you,
And whisper to you sweetly
They you'd turn to me and smile,
'You're my best friend, ' you'd say
Then kiss me softly on the cheek
And turn and walk away
You'd go thru the motions once again,
And I'd watch as girls float in and out
My heart would bleed as you cut it deep,
Because I can love you more without a doubt
Maybe if you'd just notice me,
And the way my soul would cry for you
There is no other girl who can love you more,
No other girl who can love you true
