Each night
I peer out my window
To watch him stride
With grace
Down the street
And past my window
Him
Who I am not allowed to look at
Him
Who I am prohibited to speak of
Him
Who I am forbidden to speak to
And Him
Who I am definitely not permitted to think of
Although I break two of these ruls
Every night
As I hide behind my curtains
In my dark room
Taken over by curiosity
That will
Without doubt
Stop the beating of my longing heart
As danger wanders
The dimly lit street
His eyes drifting along drawn curtains
And closed windows
And I know
What I was never meant to know
I know his secret.

wow! I love this poem about danger personified.....and i love that he walks with grace and doesn't crawl lurking in the shadows....
