See Me Once Poem by Robert Sheridan

See Me Once

How I really feel
How I paint the right romantic lines
Not a scarecrow in a dusted land
My soul lay out like a dreamer’s dream
A whole person not an empty abyss
A lover’s exactness not an inexactitude
What I believe, not which I do not see
Take your tender hand
Not have to retreat
A loving possession for all time
Take your light from an un-silenced sun
Say, “You are the only one -
You are the source of all my bliss”
Watch your eyes as they gently warm
Open up your heart
Let your radiance enrapture
Show that the feeling is here and nowhere else
Express that I need you now
Say, “I love you in an instant -
I will give you my heart forever”
See me once saying no more; forever I will love you deeply.
