See Newly-Married Poem by Luo Zhihai

See Newly-Married

★ See Newly-married

☆ Poetry by Zheng Shiyi (? -637? , Tang Dynasty, China)
☆ Translation by Luo Zhihai (1954-, China)

A teen girl dreamt of peach and plum
Her new makeup should accord with her wedding age
Suspected she pursued the dawn clouds away
And returned again with the evening rain
Wind sounded several jades
Flowers bloomed in the partition gates
Heng’e faced towards this night
Why did she pace up and down for a long time?

Note: Heng’e, Chang’e, Chinese goddess of the moon.
