Seed Of Love Poem by HELEN.J WILLIAMS

You started your journey as a seed from within,
you grew from love - then your journey began.
The moment you were born & i eyed your tiny frame,
The love overwhelmed me - my life would never be the same.
I watched you grow, learn, laugh & cry,
the look of innocence as i sang you lullaby's.
The years flew by then you were ready for kindy,
to let go of your hand really upset me.
How will she cope without me by her side,
I came home & kept busy then broke down & cried.
But you greeted me with the biggest smile,
So proud of yourself & what you had achieved in such a short while.
In the blink of an eye you reached sixth grade,
Now your high school plans would have to be made.
You made good friends throughout the years,
A few separations created many tears.
I was beside you every step of the way,
And yes i was there again on your very first day.
Nervous & anxious as you said goodbye,
I felt proud of this child - there was no need to cry.
You achieved a great deal & were very respected,
It showed in the trophies & medals you collected.
Best friends you & me - we discussed many things,
I dreaded the time i, d have to cut those apron strings.
Another blink of an eye & you were falling in love,
As your father watched over you from the sky above.
He was not here to watch you grow,
But i taught you everything he would want you to know.
The day you married the man of your dreams,
I looked up to the sky & said 'this is what love means',
To nurture & protect & create special beings,
I, ll always be here for you as i was in the beginning.
Nine months later another seed grew from love,
You blessed me with a grandchild - another angel from above.
Thank you my daughter, you have made my life whole,
You have engulfed me with happiness right through to my soul.
I can not express how much joy that this brings,
to have so much love amongst other things.
Very few parents can sit back & reflect,
On the life that they had & the goals we set.
But i can sit back & be proud at what i see,
I achieved something special -
And i achieved it solely......
