Seek Your Own Truth First Poem by Mohammad Younus

Seek Your Own Truth First

Seek your own truth first,
Your water of life.
Worry to know your essence,
Drink from the divine spring within.

Know, you need this drink
To understand your roots
In the eternal truth.

Consider the sages and saints,
Flying in unseen skies.
They do not seek schools or Gurus,
For the divine is their true teacher,
The school of divinity.

He nourishes them all day
With His knowledge and wisdom,
Making them His own true children,
The genuine students,
Real gnostics to be.

We can all share divine beauties,
Pearls of wisdom, mines of knowledge.
Lord God, be our teacher today,
So tomorrow we may follow your way.

Will you not provide us more
Of your knowledge and wisdom,
Your hidden secrets and mysteries
That we must know?

Thus, we bear your trust,
That mountains declined to bear.
We seek only you, our true essence,
Not earthly treasure or vanity.

For where our essence is, You are,
And there shall our hearts be also.
So may we humbly seek
Your true riches,
Not in heaven, but within ourselves.
