Seeking Realistic Solutions To Community Problems Poem by Terence George Craddock

there are people who seem to suffer from communication issues
these people seem to have problems communicating and wonder why
yet when others speak they try to shout them down refuse to listen

if you refuse to listen how will you learn to understand
what other people think unless you pause stop to listen
to what people say how they say it attempt to understand

how what they think believe feel from what they say
a word to the wise if you sit quietly listen to everyone
from the back of the room within a half hour an hour

you will begin to understand what everyone else in the room
thinks from what they say or are prepared to say in crowded
public spaces but private discourse is always more revealing

an interrupting shout shout them all down learns little or nothing
except act how to interrupt loud get angry with zero tolerance
wise listen learn have wisdom to know when to agree to disagree

without saying a word in time wise eyes can see complete picture
if tempers cool sanity prevails room will ask perceived silent wise
how to answer the wisdom in your answer well thought out words

a voice of reason can have influence a positive effect find solutions
to those who truly believe in God a secret told God talks through wise people honest people Satan prefers to use an insane crazy angry mob

people who earnestly seek solutions search out realistic set options
a good start is the best start but real solutions adapt to time changes
is a bad start better than no start solutions rest on strong foundations
