Self-Esteem Poem by Christopher Montalvo

Self-Esteem

(Dedication/Inspiration: Breaking Benjamin)

Medicate your fictitious wounds,
Protect your frail skin,
Sugarcoat your weaknesses,
Provoke those who fight you,
Inducing an emotional breakdown,
Different phases of beauty,
But you never seem to notice.

We live in a world that's so cold,
Don't let the evil angel have his way,
Breathe and open your eyes,
Believe in your shallow bay of truth,
Let natural life take its course,
Sooner or later,
You will run away from the negativity,
Follow your heart towards the light,
and into the loving arms you call home.
