Selling His Soul Poem by Randy McClave

Selling His Soul

He was wearing an American flag
And carrying a Holy Bible,
By the weight he did stoop and sag
Crying to all he said we needed a revival.
Then he told all his ridiculous tale,
Then he said both were for sale.

He carried the red, white and blue
With greed and not honor and pride,
He says he's a patriot through and through
But, for no fallen soldier had he ever cried.
Then unto others he smirked and did laugh,
5 times he dodged the draft.

He carries the Bible for all to see
But, he displays it upside down,
He in my opinion had committed blasphemy
As he smirks without wearing a frown.
The Bible he does also sign to endorse,
The Devil loves it of course.

He's selling the Bill of Rights and the U.S Constitution
Which he says every American should own,
Included is the Pledge of Allegiance for everyone
For our faith and patriotism and sins we should all atone.
By him all of this was created and said,
But, the Bible and those documents he never read.
